Departing from your hotel, we travel through traditional rural and fishing villages and the many plantations and farms growing a diverse range of products that the area is famous for. Stopping along the way to enjoy a local snack and fresh tropical fruit at an orchard we get a glimpse into daily rural life.
Kampot Pepper Farm
We visit the world famous Kampot Pepper Farm and we will learn about how they grow and process what is recognised as some of the worlds finest pepper.
The town of Kampot is set on a beautiful river with a stunning backdrop of jungle covered hills. With fine examples of French colonial architecture intermixed with traditional Khmer shop houses we will take some time to explore this charming town before heading to the nearby tropical hinterland.
Following the river we take in the lush landscapes before passing through a hydro electricty project to reach Thmor Tada Waterfall. Set in a stunning jungle backdrop there is a climb of some 500m upstairs to reach this popular local spot. Take a refreshing shower under the cool mountain waters as this stunning waterfall cascades down.
We take time out to relax and enjoy a traditional Khmer lunch at a local restauarant beofre continuing on our day of exploration.
We then head to Kep which was the favourite vacation home to the late King. Kep fell on hard times during the Khmer Rouge period but is coming back to life with people beginning to discover this alternative oceanside playground.
Its history is on show with many beautiful abandoned French colonial villas. We take in the local fishing villages, set behind the stark salt farms. Guests will also explore the famous crab market, meander along the coast and visit the stunning hinterland.

Depending on the service, it is customary in Asia to tip service providers, such as waiters, approximately 10%. Though not compulsory, tipping is expected and shows an expression of satisfaction with the people who have assisted you on your holiday. Although it may not be customary to you, it is of considerable significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels. There are several times during the trip where there is an opportunity to tip the local guides or drivers we use. Recommendations for tipping drivers and local guides range from $1.5-$3.5 USD per person, per day, depending on the quality and length of the service. If unsure, ask your local Green Cultural Travel representative.
When selecting your Tour or Activity please read the brochure and itinerary carefully to assess your ability to cope with the requirements of your selected product.
Safety and Security
We strongly recommend the use of a neck wallet or money belt for keeping your valuables safe. Leave your expensive jewellery at home. You won’t need it while travelling. Many of the hotels you stay at have safety deposit boxes, which is the most secure way of storing your valuables while on tour.
Protests and Demonstrations- Protests and demonstrations, even those that are well intended, have the potential to turn violent with no warning. Counter protests can also turn violent. Action by security forces to disperse demonstrators and protesters may occur at any time. If you are in an area where demonstrators or protesters are gathering, avoid the temptation of staying for a photo opportunity and leave the area immediately.
As a minimum, an average level of fitness and mobility is required to undertake our easiest programs. Travellers must be able to walk without the aid of another person, climb 3-4 flights of stairs, step on and off small boats, and carry their personal luggage.
