Day 1: Arrival (L,D)

La Union

Meet your guide at SM North EDSA The Block (in front of Conti’s Restaurant) at exactly 4AM. As you depart for La Union at 4:20AM, making a stop at The Coffee Shop in Olongapo, Subic for morning tea.

Once we arrive in La Union we’ll head straight to the Pindangan Ruins, Baluarte Watch Tower, and Namacpacan Church to explore these interesting historical sites. Then at 12 NN, you’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

You’ll check-in to your chosen accommodation for some rest and relaxation after your lunch. Then at 3PM, you’ll visit Padre Burgos House (National Museum) to learn about its historical significance and heritage. Next is to explore the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral, one of the major religious landmarks in the Philippines, known for its Baroque earthquake-style architecture.

You’ll visit the Pagburnayan Jar Factory and witness the fascinating process of transforming clay into pots. Then end the day with a mouthwatering dinner at a local restaurant in La Union.

Day 2: Baguio City (B,L,D)

City of Pines

After your breakfast, you depart for Baguio City at 9AM. Enjoy a 2-hour drive with your group and relish the cool breeze as you approach the summer capital of the country. Approximately 11:15 AM, you’ll arrive in Baguio City. Then your guide takes you to the famous Burnham Park. Take some time to explore the park’s serene surroundings and enjoy the various activities it offers, such as biking, boating, and shopping. You have an hour to make the most of your time here.

At 12:15PM, you’ll have lunch at Good Taste Restaurant. Savor the flavors of Filipino, Chinese, and Spanish fusion cuisine at this renowned restaurant in Baguio City. Following your lunch, your guide takes you to the Lion’s Head. Take a quick stop to see the enormous Lion’s Head, a popular landmark in Baguio City and a great spot for photo opportunities.

Then you’ll explore the Igorot Stone Kingdom and Bamboo Sanctuary. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Cordilleran people and marvel at the stone structures and bamboo displays. Next to stop is Lourdes Cathedral. Take some time for quiet reflection and admire the beautiful architecture of this religious landmark.

At dawn, we head back to the town to stroll down Session Road for dinner. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Baguio City’s main commercial street and choose from a variety of restaurants and eateries for dinner. And to end the day, your guide takes you to the night market. Experience the lively and bustling night market of Baguio City, where you can find a wide array of goods and local products.

Day 3: Baguio (B,L,D)

Summer Capital of the Philippines 

Start your day with breakfast, and then head to Our Lady of the Atonement Cathedral (Diocese of Baguio) to begin your exploration. You’ll also visit the Philippine Military Academy (PMA). Spend an hour exploring the prestigious military institution, learning about its rich history, and paying respect to the efforts and hard work of the Filipino soldiers. Afterwards, you’ll go to the Botanical Garden. Take in the beauty of the various plant species and enjoy a leisurely walk through this serene garden. Then you’ll proceed to Mines View. Marvel at the breathtaking view of the mining town below and take some time to shop for souvenirs and local handicrafts.

You’ll also visit the Strawberry Farm as well. Experience strawberry picking and indulge in local delicacies made from freshly harvested strawberries. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy lunch at Choco-late de Batirol in Camp John Hay. Savor delicious Filipino cuisine and treat yourself to their famous hot chocolate. Take a photo stop at The Mansion. Admire the architectural beauty of the official residence of the President of the Philippines.

Next is the Wright Park. Experience a cultural immersion by witnessing the iconic “rides” such as horseback riding and other attractions. At 4PM, you’ll head to your transient house or accommodation to rest and freshen up.

Day 4: Vigan (B,L,D)

A World Heritage Site

You’ll have an early check out from your transient house as you guide picks you up at 5:15 AM. On you’re way to the next destination, you’ll stop at a local restaurant for your early breakfast. After your breakfast,  you’ll continue the journey towards Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Our first stop is Bantay Church Bell Tower. Climb the winding staircase to the top for a breathtaking view of Vigan. Then proceed to Calle Crisologo and take a leisurely stroll along the cobblestone streets, and admire the charming ancestral houses. Then  you’ll go to one of a local restaurants for your lunch After your meal, you can continue exploring Vigan, visit other historical sites, museums, or experience the vibrant local culture.

Just 10-minute drive away from Vigan City is the privately owned Baluarte Zoo. Among caged animals, there are Bengal tigers, pythons, iguanas, camels, deer, as well as ostriches and flamingos. Visitors can feed monkeys, swans, peacocks, and parrots. Within the zoo, there is also a butterfly garden where you can admire thousands of butterflies and a track for horse riding. If you are travelling with kids, the Baluarte Zoo is something you shouldn’t miss visiting. You’ll end your day in Vigan with mouthwatering local delicacies.

Day 5: Vigan (B,L,D)

A Touch Of Spanish History

After your first meal, your guide drives to Casa Consuelo Resort for a day of swimming, relaxation, water activities and an incredible massage. Then enjoy a delicious lunch at Casa Consuelo Resort, surrounded by nature’s beauty. Continue to indulge in the resort’s amenities and the serenity of the tropical hideaway. Your guide will pick you up from the resort at 4PM and take you back to Vigan. You’ll stopover at  Calle Crisologo for some last-minute shopping and exploring. Then head to Plaza Burgos for dinner and a taste of local specialties, including empanadas and other gastronomic delights. After dinner, explore the plaza, check out souvenir shops, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Plaza Burgos.

Day 6: Departure (B)

Thank you, North Region!

Your guide will pick you at your hotel as the call time to depart to Manila is 4AM. A pitstop a long the way for breakfast at one of the local restaurants will take place before we continue our journey back to Manila. At the drop off, Philippine Cultural Travel will give a gift as a token of appreciation and souvenirs.

We offer our guests two rooms in a traditional Kubo hut. There is no need for aircon – the natural roof made of ‘Labig’ leaves prevents the room of getting hot inside. Travel Rules and Policy

Citizens entering the Philippines must meet the following conditions or risk being refused immigration clearance and may be deported:

• Citizens traveling to the Philippines are urged to https://etravel.gov.ph/ with Philippine authorities for an eArrival Card within 72 hours prior to departure.
• Passengers who are fully vaccinated must possess a recognised proof of vaccination. Travellers aged 15 and above who are not fully vaccinated are required to present a negative laboratory-based Rapid Antigen Test taken 24 hours before departure from country of origin.
• Unvaccinated traveller aged 15 and above who are unable to present a negative pre-departure laboratory-based Rapid Antigen Test will be required to undergo testing in the upon arrival in the airport. Those who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to complete a facility-based quarantine in the Philippines.
• Accompanied, unvaccinated children aged 14 and below shall follow the quarantine procedures of their parents and guardians.
• Unaccompanied unvaccinated children aged 14 and below must go through the same procedure as traveller aged 15 and above.

Local Culture

Filipinos are well known for being hospitality. Many of them go the extra mile in making visitors feel almost like VIP’s. So when you find yourself in a Filipino home, don’t be surprised if you’re forbidden to help out with anything — guests are usually not made to lift a finger.

Tipping

Depending on the service, it is discretionary in the Philippines to tip service providers, such as waiters. Though not compulsory, tipping shows an expression of satisfaction with the people who have assisted you on your holiday. Although it may not be customary to you, it is of considerable significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels. 

When selecting your tour or activity please read the brochure and itinerary carefully to assess your ability to cope with the requirements of your selected product.

Safety and Security

We strongly recommend the use of a neck wallet or money belt for keeping your valuables safe. Leave your expensive jewellery at home. You won’t need it while travelling. Many of the hotels you stay at have safety deposit boxes, which is the most secure way of storing your valuables while on tour.
