Hello from Western Australia and Singapore Greetings fellow travellers and everyone wanting to make a positive difference on this beautiful planet of ours. Where does one start after more than three years of not posting a blog. The pandemic was for us, like all travel related businesses difficult but that pales into insignificance with the suffering in communities that did not have the social safety nets that places like Australia and Singapore had. Maybe we can start with a short video showing what we are about. Through the pandemic we managed to continue to provide support to PHKA Doung Handicrafts along with Head and Hearts Learning Centre. Both are located in Cambodia and we are excited for their future. We also initiated the Reach Out Morocco programme providing support to university students from remote villages studying in Marrakech. Our most ambitious initiative, Australian Cultural Travel which is co-operative model for Indigenous Organisations to create a travel and tourism business has had the foundations laid. We have formed Australian Cultural Travel Pty Ltd along with a website and training programme. The next step is to find the right indigenous person to become the leader and create the business with our support. The journey to find this person and watching them build this business is one of the things that excites us the most for the coming year. We were also proud to unveil the website of Green Cultural Travel Hub Limited the Singapore Non Profit for whom this travel business is operated for the benefit of. Take time to visit some ancient and majestic temples, and some beautiful wilderness. At the heart of it all, is experiencing the projects that are bringing permaculture and sustainable community development to Cambodia. We have two amazing 7-Day adventures to choose from, or you may put them together for an incredible 14 days! You will be hosted in week 1 by Olivier Collineau, one of the founders of OrganiKH, and in week 2 by Lionel Aurousseau, one of the founders of Baitong. Both hail from France, have married into local families, and have a passion for bringing permaculture to Cambodia. Week One - Siem Reap to Phnom Penh Join your host Olivier Collineau on this 7-day exploration, starting from Siem Reap. We include visits to the beautiful Camborea and OrganiKH permaculture project, and a workshop at the Greenshoots Agri-Tech Centre. You will stay at a unique Floating Village on the Tonle Sap. We will then visit a vital community Coconut project and finish off at the stunning Mekong Island of Koh Dach in Phnom Penh, at the training centre project which we are supporting. Week Two - Phnom Penh to Kampot & Return Join Lionel Aurousseau as we start on the beautiful Mekong River island of Koh Dach, before heading to Kirirom Mountain, and enjoy an overnight stay at the remarkable Coconut School, which has been built partly from recyclable material.
